Now is time to get real. Republicans in New Hampshire complain about the state turning blue in 2004 and bluer in 2006. The one link between these elections is Governor John Lynch. This guy pushed his polls into the stratosphere by taking advantage of two hundred year floods in two years. Every Newspaper and TV station had him front and center during these storms. There was nothing like "flood Photo op" to send Lynch up in the polls. Also his non threating demeanor and lack of partisanship made him popular with many Republicans he picked up 16 to 20 percent in the 2006 gubernatorial election in 2006.

Many say this guy is unbeatable. I don't think so, he is not a great governor. Look at him could you see him running for President and winning. He has a NERDY appearance and plays the "feel good "
game with the electorate. Lynch would be a hard sell in the National Media market.

Now let's look at his accomplishments. Vetoed "Castle Doctrine" legislation, Signed the Civil Unions law, Increased state spending 17.4%, raised the drop out age to 18, helped divorced people sponge off their ex spouses' heath insurance for three years.

What to do. First Republicans need to be unified against Lynch. Those who have supported him in the past I hope will "turn like dogs" and support "any" Republican who goes up against him next year. Republican voters need to turn up the heat and openly criticize him in blogs and Letters to the editor in newspapers and spread the word among friends and family. This will chip away at his "brand" and will start to show up in polls before the "Big guns" of the GOP look to take him on.

Lynch last year got 77 % of the popular vote. If you subtract 16 -20 % of that which is believed to be Republican support that puts Lynch in the 57 to 61 % range. I saw an recent poll in June that had him at 64 %. approval. The closer he gets to 50% the more likely he will get a tougher and better financed opponent. Now is the time to get real.

Shea Porter's soon to be short lived career

First we have a secret vote for Democrat majority Leader. She probably voted for Pennsylvania Porker "Slow Bleed" John "Abscam" Murtha. So many nick names. He is the epitome of statesmanship in Washington.

Did I mention that Murtha made a campaign contribution in 2006 to Shea porter's campaign.

She voted to squash secret ballots for union voting.

She lost "Operation Streetsweeper" funding for the Drug war in Manchester. The Drug business in Manchester is booming. Look at all the armed store robberies, bank robberies and home invasions.

She voted for funding troops in Iraq before she voted against it. Sound familiar. She said something about lack of a withdrawal date. Last time I checked congress doesn't conduct foreign policy.

She voted to raise taxes on tobacco to expand SCHIP( Children's Health insurance). Bush wanted to expand the program by a smaller amount. Unfortunately Shea Porter and her "puppet master" Nancy Pelosi have to turn SCHIP into a political football and send this one up for a VETO. Too bad for the soon to be uninsured kids. Too bad for Cigar smokers if it doesn't get Vetoed.

She voted to block an amendment to stop illegal aliens from receiving Federal benefits under an Agricultural Bill. Remember this is the vote, where Republicans got shafted by Democrats breaking house rules on votes.

She voted Against changing the FISA Law to monitor TERRORIST phone calls Originating in Foreign countries routed through the United States without a warrant.

This is all in the first year of her term. I can't wait for the campaign commercials next year.
